Empty tape roll with tape wrapping

Step 1

Cover empty tape roll with two pieces of tape wrapping the excess under one edge. On the opposite edge, cut notches in the tape at 1/2 in. intervals. You can add a third piece of tape, centered on the tape roll to cover the seam if desired.

Step 2

Attach tape roll to the bottom of the can using tape tabs.

Step 3

Cover the bottom portion of the can with the same color tape you used on the tape roll.

Step 4

Cover the remainder of the can with the second tape color.

Step 5

Line the inside top portion of the can with tape. It helps to work in sections, covering half the can at a time.

Step 6

Optional knobs. Paint knobs desired color and let dry. Use a nail and hammer, or a drill to make two holes near the top of the can. Screw wood knobs to can.
